In town, the Martin Gusinde Anthropological Museum traces the history of the region’s former inhabitants, the indigenous Yaghan people.

Ushuaia is a resort town in Argentina. It’s located on the Tierra del Fuego archipelago, the southernmost tip of South America, nicknamed the “End of the World.” The windswept town, perched on a steep hill, is surrounded by the Martial Mountains and the Beagle Channel. It’s the gateway to Antarctica cruises and tours to nearby Isla Yécapasela, known as “Penguin Island” for its penguin colonies.

Punta Arenas is a city near the tip of Chile’s southernmost Patagonia region. Located on the Strait of Magellan, which connects the Atlantic and Pacific oceans, it’s often used as base for excursions to the surrounding wilderness and Antarctica. The Plaza Muñoz Gamero has a memorial to explorer Ferdinand Magellan, and the Museo Nao Victoria features a replica of one of his galleons.

English is one of the official languages, but the Māori language of the Cook Islands has also spread, and a variant called “Rarotongan”, from the name of the island.

Nukuʻalofa is the capital of Tonga. It is located on the north coast of the island of Tongatapu, in the country’s southernmost island group.

Suva is the capital of the South Pacific island nation of Fiji. It’s a city of broad avenues, lush parks and grand British colonial buildings, such as the Suva City Library. Suva’s colorful, lively Municipal Market offers a range of local fruit and vegetables. Fiji Museum, set within the Victorian-era Thurston Gardens, contains examples of traditional canoes, war clubs and tattooing tools.

Nouméa is the capital of the South Pacific archipelago and overseas French territory New Caledonia. Situated on the main island, Grand Terre, it’s known for beaches and its blend of French and native Kanak influences. The Jean-Marie Tjibaou Cultural Centre showcases Kanak heritage, and the Musée de Nouvelle-Calédonie has exhibits from across the Pacific region. The Aquarium des Lagons introduces local marine life.

In this respect, it is nice to visit the weekly folklorish market in Salamanca Place. The sailing tradition of these seas is shown in the historic Sydney-Hobart regatta held in December.

Port Louis is the capital city of Mauritius, in the Indian Ocean. It’s known for its French colonial architecture and the 19th-century Champ de Mars horse-racing track. The Caudan Waterfront is a lively dining and shopping precinct. Nearby, vendors sell local produce and handicrafts at the huge Central Market. The Blue Penny Museum focuses on the island’s colonial and maritime history, along with its culture.

Port Elizabeth is a city on Algoa Bay in South Africa’s Eastern Cape Province. A major port, it’s also known for its numerous beaches. The Donkin Heritage Trail takes in the Old Hill neighbourhood’s Victorian landmarks. Coastal boat tours spot whales and rare seabirds, while wildlife reserves outside the metropolitan area are home to elephants, rhinos and other big game.

Walvis Bay is a port town on the coast of Namibia. Sheltered by the Pelican Point sand spit, its tidal lagoon is home to abundant birdlife including flamingos, pelicans and Damara terns. The harbor is busy with fishing boats and ships. Dolphins, whales and Cape fur seals inhabit the Atlantic waters around the Pelican Point Lighthouse. East of the bay, coastal sand dunes like Dune 7 mark the start of the Namib Desert.

El puerto de Santa Cruz de Tenerife es el acceso de la ciudad al mar y se caracteriza por la mezcla de culturas que han logrado coexistir en armonía con las demás.

Barcelona es la segunda ciudad más grande de España, con tres millones de habitantes, un puerto dominante en el norte del Mediterráneo y una de las universidades más prestigiosas e importantes del mundo. La ciudad es un centro comercial muy rico, donde tienen lugar operaciones industriales cruciales para la economía española.
De hecho, los catalanes siempre han considerado su región especial en comparación con las demás regiones españolas y podemos encontrar sus raíces en el poder ejercido por Barcelona durante cuatrocientos años el menos sobre la monarquía española y sobre los acontecimientos comerciales europeos.

Algo agradable es sentarse en un uno de los cafés con vistas al puerto de Marsella y, tomando un Pastis, observar el paisaje y las personas que lo habitan.
Llamada también la ”Ciudad de las mariposas”, Marsella es la ciudad más soleada de Francia, encantadora por sus barrancos en los que se puede nadar, su historia y cultura y sus restaurantes de cocina cosmopolita. No puede marcharse sin haber recorrido antes el ”Cours Julien, la calle de las compras. El puerto de Marsella es quizás un destino turístico típico, pero merece ser visitado por el ferry que sale del Ayuntamiento y la antigua iglesia, que sustituyó a un edificio templario.

Uno de los más célebres antiguos habitantes de Savona fue el navegante Cristóbal Colón, quien cultivo la tierra en la zona mientras hacía la crónica de sus viajes. “La Casa de Colón”, una casa de campo situada en las colinas de Savona, se extendía entre los cultivos de hortalizas y árboles frutales. Es sólo una de las muchas residencias en Liguria asociados con Colón.

Varias ciudades, así como Savona reclaman su nacimiento y residencia, como Génova y Terrarossa di Moconesi. Savona es la ciudad más importante de la costa oeste de Italia, al alcance de los resorts costeros de Alassio, Loano y Varazze.

Las primeras evidencias de asentamientos en la zona de Civitavecchia se refieren a la antigua ciudad de Centocelle, una vez fue el puerto de Etruria y un rico centro de mercado. Plinio el Joven se refiere en sus escritos a Centocelle como sede de un consejo de paz celebrada por el emperador Trajano.
Centocelle toma su nombre del estilo de las casas de la aldea, que se parece a colmenas con células pequeñas, las pequeñas bahías de la costa que permitieron a los barcos ir y venir. Debido a su entorno protegido y con fácil acceso al mar, Trajano construyó su villa más extravagante en la vecindad, mencionada por Plinio. La primera estructura básica del puerto desarrollado por Trajano todavía permanece.

Fueron los venecianos, quienes bautizaron la hermosa isla de Corfú. Este paraíso cubierto de espesa vegetación y bendecida por un clima suave, es un verdadero mosaico de culturas e influencias artísticas.
